Tools for Performance-Driven Design

Tools for Performance-Driven Design
By Vignesh Kaushik • Issue #16 • View online
Hello Folks!
It is well acknowledged that performance analysis performed early on in the design process can yield significant energy savings. Integrating tools for performance analysis (solar gain, daylight, wind flow etc.) with the concept design process provides architects with a rapid feedback loop between building geometry and measurable performance data. This helps them quickly evaluate multiple options and make an informed design decision while taking performance as a guiding tool.
This week, let’s take a look at a few building simulation plugins available for early stage concept design tools. These tools allow architects to truly adopt a performance-driven design process.
Until next week,Vignesh Kaushik, Computational BIM Specialist
